What's the difference between an eyeshield and a visor in football

i noticed colt brennan wheres one and i was thinking about getting one

whats the difference betweeen an eyeshield and a visor

and is it necessary to have one? whats it for? and I'm in 8th grade

They look really sweet. I had one last year. An eye shield is just a clear one so you don't get mud and dirt and stuff in youre eyes, or you don't get poked or whatever. A visor has tint, so the sun doesn't get in your eyes. More ideal for a defensive back or a wide receiver. You should get an eyeshield though. They loook sweeet.
