What's the difference between boarding school and high school?

Do they have summer vacations at boarding school?

Do they live there at boarding school?

Anything similiar between the 2?

My BFF is going to boarding school and I'd like to know how it's like.

boarding school is kinda like schools with dorms. you live there. usually the education, teacher, staff are better. It's more strict and it costs $$$.

High school is just, well, high school You go to school, and you come home.

At both boarding school and high school, you learn. You go to classes. You make friends.

Well... boarding school is when you live at the school, you can come home occasionally on vacations.

Yes, there are differences.  One 'boards' at a boarding school.  In other words, one lives there during the school year.  Boarding schools do have summer vacations, and intersession vacations, etc., etc.
