What's the difference between crowns and veneers?

  1. A crown is when they grind down your tooth (usually a molar) to almost nothing, then cement on a replica, made from an impression of your former tooth.  A veneer is just a thin covering for your tooth (usually a front tooth).  Your original tooth is still there, behind the veneer.
