I have a female cat, and someone once told me "No offense, but I hate female cats." What makes them different from males (besides the obvious :))

  1. Actually, I don't like male cats because they spray everywhere.

  2. female cats act insane when they're in heat.

    they're loud and annoying.

  3. A shelter told me once that after the neutering that there is really no difference in the two as long as you give them plenty of love.  I have to disagree to an extent, but not totally.  Male cats are bigger, and eat more.  I have also heard that they can be more affectionate, as in love me NOW.  However this is not tried and true.  I have four cats, all girls.  One is not affectionate at all and borders on being rude at times.  Her sister on the other hand can be very loving but she picks the time and place.  Usually when you are busy.  Misty, my third cat follows me around like a puppy and sleeps on my pillow every night.  (I have a wide pillow)  Amber, who was bottle raised comes at me out of nowhere, saying love me now.

My best friend has two males and argues that they are the most affectionate cats in the world.  I still think it boild down to everyone has different preferences and will find cats that suit them.

  4. Well i don't find any differences between them.

The person who told you that does not like cats so that's why  it is telling you this.

Male cats are bigger and love going outdoors and sitting and playing with others. But they spray everywhere so that is really disgusting.

Female cats rather like to be indoors and sleep  inside than male ones.

But I don't think that's true. Female cats  can to be active as male ones if they are taught to be like that.

So don't think about what the person has said to you.

    >^_^<

  5. Male cats can be bigger and more violent, with lower voices. If they aren't neutered, the difference is especially obvious.

  6. People who hate any kind of animal have a deeper problem. Don't worry about it. Cats are a lot more independent and won't go to just anybody, maybe this person can't handle feline rejection.

  7. female cats get boned by the male cats, and then sometime later they have baby cats. wich are called kittens. Please excuse me if I sound like a total smartass, but I am high and drunk.

  8. lol... I don't think your 'someone' knows cats very well. All cats have different personalities and once desexed there really isn't a difference between males and females.

Unfixed males tend to be grumpy and wander a lot. They also tend to mark their territory (spray) all over everything.

Unfixed females can meow a heck of a lot if in season and be a bit temperamental (but aren't we all?). If they have kittens they are also preoccupied keeping the kids under control.

Every cat is different, but not usually because of s*x.

  9. Male cats tend to be outgoing, sociable, and in your face cats.  Females tend to have one preferred human that they like to snuggle, and hide from strangers.  By no means are ALL cats that way, you can have a shy boy or outgoing girl, it just seems to be a general predisposition.  The only real difference is one has a p***s and the other has a v****a.

  10. That person who told you that, could just be slightly sexist? Im not sure what it is but, i seem to like male animals better than female. Could just be that I'm completely wierd, but hey. But I didnt think there was a difference...

  11. Well right now I have a 4 inch slash on my chest. one on my left and right wrist, one on my right forearm and hand and one on my left finger. All because he was afraid of the person I walked up to holding him. Whether this would have happened if my cat was a female, I don;t know

  12. perhaps female cats have PMS like human females?

  13. There can be personality quirks in cats of either s*x.  I don't know why your friend didn't like female cats - might just have been based on a few cats they had known.

  14. Male cats can be more affectionate like right now my male cat just layed down on my keyboard. But they can also be mean when they want to. Female cats however can be a little more skittish, and sometimes they don't like to sit still. But some females love to be the center of attention. They are sometimes more active than males. And I disagree with the person who said females like to stay inside. They are cats, they all would like to spend more time outside they are just domesticated to where they know if they are inside they are out of the weather, there is some human that will scratch their ears, and an unlimited supply of food, and things to tear up.

  15. Male cats plan your death 24 - 7 and advertise the fact loudly and openly.

Female cats are busy trying to figure out how to open the food after the male cat has 'done' you.

  16. I don't know.  The difference could be their worth.  Like male cats can't have kittens?  Maybe it's because female cats act weird in heat?  If that's the problem then they should jus fix the cat.  I don't know I always hated male cats cuz everytime I got one, even after I got it fixed it would spray my house and make it smell like cat pee.

  17. their character, they go around having s*x with the males and also more ungrateful then the male.

i hate both male and female cats...because cats are not grateful... they will eat food from anyone who give feed it.. unlike dogs.... only eating food from their owners.... if i am the owner of my dog and you feed the dog, the dog will not eat it....

  18. Nothing really

  19. Male cats have a tendency to be more lovable and affectionate. Where as females can be a little more stand offish. Males are known to spray, marking their territory.  Females can have babies, males can't.

  20. The thing hanging down near the legs.

  21. When someone says to me no offense, but... I take it to mean "I am about to offend you, and I am fully aware of the rudeness of the statement I am about to make, yet I am going to do it anyways."

In the words of Dumbledore, When Mr. Dursley started to say "I don't mean to be rude but...", Dumbledore interjected

"Yet sadly accidental rudeness occurs alarmingly often...best not to say anything at all".

Your friend is inconsiderate and closed minded.  Not all female cats fit the preconceived notion of female cat personalities.  She should spend time with your cat before she makes a judgement on it.  In fact, some reputable organizations claim that there is no merit to these male and female stereotypes at all.
