What's the difference between grease/oil/lubes?

what's the difference, concerning bikes? and where would i apply each on a bike? thanks.

You use grease- there are different types such as lithium etc.- for the ball bearings in the wheel hubs, cranks etc. You use light oil on the chain, derailleur, etc. where only a light coating is applied as a heavy coating picks up dirt and grime that in the long term will cause damage.
