Is someone able to explain me by an EASY way what is the difference between them ?

I've heard that the quality of the lens is also important. Do you know about it ?

Thanks in advance

  1. Here is the list in order of importance.

    Lens quality

Sophistication of the analog to digital converter

    Size of the sensor

Pixel density (usually lower is better)

and last ... the pixel count.

    On Pixel counts:

The easy way to know you have a camera with good resolution is to buy an entry level DSLR ... they all have good resolution ... some just better than others, but since their sensors are over 15 times the size of sensors on P&S cameras, you can see why DSLR's produce such amazing photos

  2. megapixels are derived from the resolution

    if you have a resolution of 3000 X 2000

    thats 6 megapixels

more important is the sensor and the lens and obviously the software in the camera

The only way is by reviews
