  1. Not much difference. Jam is a fruit preserve with 50% fruit, 50% sugar. Jelly is jam where the fruit pulp has been filtered out. Marmalade is jam with fruit peel.


  2. In Australia and probably Britain these words have a different meaning to the US. Jam is what you spread on bread/toast. Marmalade is jam made from oranges or other citrus fruits, and jelly is the brightly coloured wobbly stuff made from gelatine that kids like to eat with icecream.

  3. Jam has the seeds still in it, and is thicker. Jelly does not have seeds and is usually sweeter. Marmalade has the fruit peel in it and is about the same consistancy of jam.
