I want to sign up for a class and I'm not sure what the terms mean. Regular ballet and hip hop are also offered, and at least I know what those look like.

Also, what's your favourite?

Thanks for your help! =)

  1. Jazz: Jazz is like, kinda broadway-like without singing. Like, stage dance. It's really up beat.

Lyrical: It's Ballet, jazz, and a little modern. A lot is based on the lyrics of the song you dance to, and that's why they call it lyrical.

Funk: It's like hip hop. Only more like, easy, and not as gangster.

Sorry I don't know anything about modern.

  2. My favorite is ballet.

Jazz dance is a form of modern dance which is heavily influenced by the sounds, rhythms, and techniques of jazz music, with an emphasis on showcasing individual skills, and jazz dancers are skilled at improvisation as well as working with other dancers to achieve a desired look and feel

Jazz funk a type of dance music that incorporates jazz and funk
