  1. They cover different medical needs. Use the link below to read all about it.

  2. Part A is inpatient hospital coverage. It has a per occurrence deductible of $1024. As mentioned, it is at no extra charge as long as you've worked and paid into the system for 40 quarters. If you haven't you can purchased Part A; the premium will depend upon how many quarters you did work.

Part B is for everything else. It has a premium of at least $96.40 per month, more if you are high income. It has a yearly deductible of $135.

Part C is Medicare Advantage plans and Part D is prescription drug coverage. Both are provided by private insurance companies. Part C gets rid of the deductibles and the 20% and many have a low or even a $0 premium.

Medicare A is for Inpatient hospital only. Its free, as long as you worked enough quarters to qualify. It covers most service provided by the hospital while you're inpatient. you have a copay/deductible that's between 950.00 & 1000.00.

Medicare B is for everything else... Doctors, IV drugs administered by a professional, labs, radiology, medical equipment, & outpatient hospital. You pay a monthly premium to have part B; plus a deductible at the start of every year. About $200.00. Plus 20%. (when using a preferred medicare provider)
