I have a large calf[18 inches with breeches&knee socks on] and there arn't any boots on ebay within my price range that'd fit![0-45 dollars. x_o] What's the difference between mens and women's tall boots? Could I get them instead? They're cheaper and have my size.... Could you tell from the outside that they're mens and not womens? :\

  1. When I rode Hunter-Jumper...and had to have field boots, I had the same problem and did have to resort to mens.  No difference just that they do have a "bigger" look to them.

All I can say is..why didn't they think of back zippers and half chaps and stuff back then.....would have made my life a lot easier!!

Just make sure unless they are returnable that they give ALL the measurements...even from the bottom of the sole..from big to little toe..length of toe to heel, circumference of the ankle area as well as the calf, outside instep area etc.  Other than that..go for it!!

Oh...and measure from whatever boot your wearing now..I guess paddock or jodphurs for the foot part!!

  2. I don't think there is any difference between mens' boots and womens' boots other than the sizing. As long as you find some that fit properly, no one will notice or be able to tell that you have mens' boots.

  3. probably not and no-ones going to scrutinize your boots and go  ewwww you freaky tranny ure wearing mens boots... i wear my boyfriends clothes to the stables and no-one even baths an eyelid.
