What's the difference between mobile phone and telephone?

A mobile phone is a cell-phone meaning U can take it anywhere and still have a connection and its cordless

A telephone is on a cord unless U have a cordless one like me. But even my cordless telephone can't work a long distance from home because it still needs signals

telephones are wired to the ground. even cordless ones need a stand..a base.. they are all grid-ed together and ...thats what phone lies are for. there are two kinds of mobile phones. cell and satelite. cell use towers that jump from where you are to where the person youre calling is. they jump tower to tower until they get there. the regions between the towers are called cells. hence..cell phones. satellite phones..the call goes up to space, bounces off a satellite, then back down to earth straight to the receiver. cell phones are subject to .. if theres a tower nearby, whereas satellite work anywhere at any time.
