What's the difference between quesadilla and fijatias?

quesadillas are 2 tortillas "stuck together" with cheese & meat/veggies, lightly buttered on the outside, & cooked in a frying pan.

for a fajita, the meat is cooked separately, then you put it in an (uncooked) tortilla & top with cheese, veggies, sour cream or salsa, etc.

Quesadillas are flat grilled tortillas filled with whatever they decide to use. Fajitas are vegetables/whatever wrapped in a non-grilled tortilla (like a wrap). They taste very similar, but quesadillas are crunchier.

Despite what MANY people are posting, quesadillas and fajitas DO NOT taste similar whatsoever. Nor are they in the same category.

A quesadilla is composed of a single pan-warmed tortilla folded in half that is stuffed with cheese or a combination of cheese and meat (chicken, beef, etc). Cheddar or monterrey jack cheese is commonly used in the US, but traditional Mexican quesadillas are filled with a wide variety of cheeses.

Fajitas, on the other hand, are slivers of sliced meat (chicken, beef or whole shrimp) sauteed with a mixture of vegetables that may include onions, bell peppers, tomatoes and chilis. They are often seasoned with lime and salt but can also be marinated in different sauces.

See? NOT similar at all.

A quesadilla is sort of the Mexican version of a grilled cheese sand which.  It is basically cheese melted between two tortillas.  Usually Cheddar cheese is used but other cheeses can be used too.  Sometimes guacamole (mashed avocados that are seasoned), salsa, or/and sour creme are provided for dipping.

Fajitas are much different.  Fajitas are fire grilled veggies and meat brought out.  Tortillas are provided on the side and the person eating fills his/her tortillas with the meat and veggies.  The flavor of fajitas is usually somewhat smokey.

Well some of them are right about the quesadillas there dear friend, but it all depends on were you go to eat these items. For example; the quesadilla is in some places two 6 or 8 inch flour tortillas, and in others it is corn tortillas. Yes they do come with cheese but they did not tell you that you can order it with your choice of chesses. It can be anything from cheddar,monterrey,pepper jack,swiss,heck even blue chesse?! And as far as the veggies and meats they also forgot to tell you that you can also order them with such other items like shrimp,fish,grilled veggies,and top everything off with a mild to inferno hot salsa!!! But that will be your decesion of course. Now the fajita is marinated flank steak (which in many ways looks like brisquet) or chicken breast, and it can also be pork,fish,seafood,or just plain grilled veggies for the vegetarian. So I hope this gives you a much better vew as to what the two items can be?? Hope you enjoy them :)...oh and in some places they use just on large 12 inch tortilla (regular white) or in some cases the tortilla is flavored with sundried tomatoes, or spinach...and yes they are the color of the vegetable (red or green).. quesesadilla is flour tortilla with cheese and sometimes meat that is grilled and served warm.  fajitas are grilled meat and vegetables searve with tortillas i would go with the fajitas.
