  1. isolated storms and showers are more singular and don't have any other storms around them. scattered means they are more in a big clustery bunch.

  2. Isolated thunderstorms or related showers are often forecast when relatively humid and warm air may rise by topographic reason such as mountains (orographic convection) or the proximity of the sea. It is the least predictable form of thunderstorm.

Scattered showers or thunderstorms use the standard definition Scattered that means between 2/8 and 4/8 of the sky covered. In this case, the origin of the forecast is probably a passing cold front with unstable air masses. This is easier to forecast but the intensity of the weather is never very accurate. It may vary widely from place to place because e.g. a mountain will increase the uplift of a passing cold front and both meteorological phenomenons will add to each other.
