Question:

What's the difference between the textbooks "introductory chemistry" and "introductory chemistry essentials"?

They're both by the author Nivaldo J. Tro.

My school recommended "introductory chemistry", but if there's not much difference b/w the 2, then i don't wanna buy something more expensive.

  1. If you go to the second reference, you can read the differences are real, but not much.  The "essentials" talks more about real world relations, the other is the traditional textbook.  The biggest difference for you is the problems are probably going to be different so doing homework will be a problem.  The first reference gives some sites where you may find cheaper copies.
