  1. Tangelos are more dimpled I think and mandarins are tasty. Well I believe that they're tastier.

  2. ~The Mandarin orange or mandarin (or mandarine) is a small citrus tree (Citrus reticulata) with fruit resembling the orange. The fruit is oblate, rather than spherical. Mandarin oranges are usually eaten plain, or in fruit salads. Specifically reddish orange mandarin cultivars can be marketed as tangerines, but this is not a botanical classification.

~The tangerine (Citrus reticulata) is an orange- or red-coloured citrus fruit. Tangerines are smaller than most oranges, and the skin of some varieties peels off easier. The taste is often less sour, or tart, than that of an orange

~The tangelo is a citrus fruit that is a hybrid of a tangerine and either a pomelo or a grapefruit. It may have originated in Southeast Asia over 3,500 years ago. The fruits look like good-sized oranges and have a tangerine taste, but are very juicy, to the point of not providing much flesh but producing excellent and plentiful juice. Tangelos generally have loose skin and are easier to peel than oranges.[1] They are easily distinguished from oranges by a characteristic k**b at the top of the fruit

    Hope this helps!

    Lulabelle x*x

  3. my opinion is mandies are sweet & tangelos are more tart

  4. and satsumas, kumquats and clementines... wtf?? they're all just small oranges to me!! :)

only differences that I was aware of is the sweetness, the acidity and how easy they are to peel!!

Anywho - I googled it and found this site...

    http://www.thefruitpages.com/oranges.sht...

basically runs through the appearance, type of tree, history... etc (yawn!) but hopefully can clear it up for you!!

I have a craving for a satsuma now...
