These are the two monitors in question. Both are Acer 22" widescreen LCDs:

Price is similar but I'm trying to parse the specs out--I'm looking for a monitor that will do gaming well. This monitor will be paired in a dual setup with a large CRT. The biggest difference I see is the contrast ratio and the ports are a bit different but I don't know exactly what it means. My graphics card (where the monitors will plugin of course) is an 8800GT. I'm running Vista and a Q6600 if it matters. If you need any other information I'll provide it! If you have any other experiences with good 22" monitors *in this price range* do feel free to mention that as well. Thanks a bunch!

  1. Contrast Ratio: 700:1  i guess but then again it might be a remake

  2. AL2216W is a lower quality monitor: lower contrast ratio, much lower gamut (number of colours), simpler electronics (no multitension, no internal video converters), lower warranty.

    Buy the second one.

  3. Wow,...what a coincidence,..i was gonna get the second link for the Acer Monitor tmr! ;)

I was looking at it today in Argos>http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores...

They look the same to me,..apart from the Ratio and the different kinda stands that they are on.

I don't know what the prices would be if they were converted into into £'s so it's hard for me to work out if it's good value.

I prefer the second one more,.;),..but it's up to you.

I think they are both great ;)
