What's the difference between vegas and windows movie maker?

I've heard a lot of people say that they like the Vegas (6.0, whatever) a lot better than WMM. What's the difference between them?

  1. Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 (and Pro 8) are the latest versions . They cost anywhere from $55 USD up to $550 (four different versions). Windows Movie Maker is free.

    Vegas does more things, but free is always nice. wmm is really a basic editor and can not do all the fancy stuff.

    You can download trial versions of the Vegas Studio and decide which you like best.
