  1. Well, I'm assuming you know what an angle is. Vertical angles are angles that have the same vertex, bound by the same lines, but are opposite to each other. Through derivation, these angles are found to be congruent. Adjacent angles are angles that have a common ray coming out of the vertex going between two other rays. That means that if you have rays A, B, and C, and if all three of these rays share a common starting point, then angles AB and BC are adjacent angles.
