  1. the in and out part

  2. Generally the appliance you are connecting that would take the video-in and video-out (RCA) cables are color coded, red, yellow and white.  The red and white portion of the cables are  the audio while the yellow cable is the video.

Video-in is what you would usually utilize when wanting to bring the picture in, such as connecting a vcr to a television or even a cablebox to a television.  Video-out is the cable coming from such as a dvd player, video game or even a cable box that would send the picture out of said item into the appliance you connect it to.

Most all connectors that you would plug these in to are color coded as well either in the connectors themselves or have like a square around the plug that is color coded.  Now not all appliances will take both red and white audio cables as some of them will only use one of the cords which is fine as you will still have sound but I thought it was worth mentioning as some people may wonder why they have an extra cord section.

  3. lets say you have a TV....and on that TV theres video in plugs, and video out plugs.

the video in plug lets you send video/audio from something else, like a dvd player, into the tv, so that you can see it on the tv

the video out plug lets you send something from the tv, like a tv show, to something else, like a computer moniter

  4. Video-in connection is used to receive signals from an electrical device for example a DVD Player

But a Video out connection is the one used to send signals for example a T.V.

Red and white are audio connections while yellow is a video connection

so you should plug the cable in video-out connection in a DVD Player, Top-Box etc.....

And the and cable in the video-in of the T.V

  5. In is from a device such as DVD player to watch a DVD

Out is to a device such as DVD recorder to record a DVD

    Yellow is picture signal

Red and white is stereo sound
