  1. Walgreens is better. I don't shop at CVS because almost every encounter I've had with their staff has been negative in some way. When I had a problem with a rude cashier at Walgreens & complained, she was gone the next week. I believe that customer service is better at Walgreens & they have better sales. If they are out of a sale item, you can always get a raincheck.

  2. they are about the same, like walmart and k-mart

  3. I would say CVS is cheaper than Walgreen's, and Walgreen's is a little more fancy. But other than that, they aren't much different. I think Walgreen's carries a little bigger variety of non-medicine products than CVS does.

  4. They're owned by different corporations, for one thing.  Their prices are independent and their sales are different.  Pharmacies are generally market-competitive (though perhaps not on actual prescriptions!)  There's no simple answer here, like comparing Neiman-Marcus to Wal-Mart.  (For the best prices on actual prescriptions, avoid pharmacies completely and patronize Wal-Mart, Costco, Sam's Club, etc.)
