What's the difference between wet and damp?

I just bought a new hair iron and there's a list that comes with it and it says that when your hair is damp I should put the iron on a certain temperature and same thing for when your hair is wet. I wanna know what is the difference between wet and damp.

  1. Dictionary.  I mean in all reality damp is wet.  It's just varying degrees of moisture.  


  2. Wet is almost dripping but like when you just get out of the shower and damp is like when you dry it with a towl so its drying but not dried. If that makes sence to you lol

  3. Wet is considered to be dripping with water where as damp is wet to the touch but not dripping

    damp is when it feels slightly wet but you can't squeeze water out.

    Wet is the way your hair is right when you come out of the shower

    Damp is when the excess water in your hair is dried up, for example when you squeeze your hair, no water comes out, and it has a sleek feel to it

  17. damp is when its not dripping, been out of the shower for about ten to fifteen minutes, some parts loook dry, but aren't. when you swueeze it not water falls. wet it when you squeeze it no water falls but your hands are moist and it drips every so often, first few minutes out of the shower. i recommend using it when damp, its healthier
