To me they all seem like the same thing. Is there a difference? (The ghost part...after you die.)

  1. Ghost is an entity replaying what it did in life.

Spirit is the intelligent entity that plays tricks, slams doors, etc.

Soul is the divine spark that we all contain, souls live forever.

Mind is your higher self, or the linkage to the higher self, it is hard to describe depending on ability of the the person asking the question to understand.

The brain is the transmitter, the physical organ required to communicate with the mind. Did you ever wonder why some people have big heads and can't tie their shoes or do life skills math, while a little pencil neck guy with a tiny head is a whiz at history?

Refer to the Movie "The Rain Man" the star of that show portrays an idiot savant. He can barely dress himself but he can give answers to future questions like at the horse race track, could answer very sophisticated mathematical problems WITHOUT  the benefit of an education.

The controlled media and modern scientists refuse to address issues like this. A decade ago a child was born that could play Beethoven on the piano at three and a half and never had a music lesson in his life, modern scientists are for the most part cowards and ran the other way.

  2. To me the spirit, conceived and given by God, is sent in order to energize and instill into our bodies our soul,  which is our life essence.  The mind is the perceiver and contains the awareness of our life essence.  The ghost is the remains of the energy of our  life essence after our time, in the physical sense, on earth is past.  They are all entertwined, but distinctly different.  And nothing paranormal about it in my mind, by the way...♥

  3. Every human has a soul or a spirit.  When you die, that spirit, under ideal circumstances, leaves the body and goes on to a different plane than most of us are aware of.  A ghost starts out the same way.  The difference is that it does not go to the next plane, level of being(however you would like to say it) it stays earthbound.

Spirits are able to cross over in visitation, but they do not stay.  Ghost did not cross to begin with, so they are pretty much like they were before they left the body.  The easiest way to expalin it is that a soul or spirit have certain perks that ghost do not have because they did not cross over.

  4. The mind is a catch-all term used to describe the mental or psychological manifestations of our thoughts, memories, experiences, decision-making processes, etc.

As I understand it, the term soul refers to the entity representing a person distinct from his/her physical body.  The term can be used poetically or figuratively, but I most often associate it with spiritual or religious matters.

The spirit can be similar to the soul, especially when it comes to matters of (shock!) spirituality, which I see as being very similar to, but not necessarily synonymous with, religion.  It too can be seen as an entity that is represents a distinct person.

The term ghost is usually used to describe the visual manifestation of the spirit of an animal, especially in context of a haunting.

But ultimately you're correct in that they all have similar characteristics, none of which are tangible or objectively observable.

  5. The souls of people are the thoughts of God, God breathes into his thoughts and the soul is entwine with the newly created spirit.

The ghost is spirit, it's only call ghost when it's basically trapped on earth.

That's why some call the Holy spirit the Holy Ghost because it's always on the earth.

Spirit-soul and Body- mind...Spirit and soul last forever, body and mind is temporary.

  6. Maybe our Spirit is how we do things. How we approach our daily tasks can define our spirit. Perhaps a spirit of joy or sadness.       The soul could be something we all have. Maybe it could be One Universal Soul. As long as life exists there is that soul which we are a part of. Our body will die, but, the Soul keeps going. Our mind is the "tool" that we need to keep the spirit & soul protected while in this vessel called our bodies. Finally, we morph into the "Ghost".  Maybe like a meteor in space flying thru the void til all that is left is an imaginary image of a path unseen. So, I guess there is a difference.

  7. Very interesting question: I will take a stab at it. Your spirit is a gift--of life (from God). YOUR BEING. Your soul is the CORE of your being. Your mind is a seperate, powerful entity that tries to dictate/control that being. And the term ghost is created by the movies to portray and acknowledge the existence and independence of the spirit from the flesh (ie scare poor kids). :-)

    Hmm...I shall ponder some more.

  8. Hi Deenie, Coming to PC /about 2 hours ago I though to ask :"Can one have an evoluated  spirit and simple soul and opposite and what persons  would you prefer for parents, man etc.?"I am surprised to find similar question , but this happens not for the first time -even some forum connects us telepathically.

So - may be the difference is in what we are given to understand

  9. You spirit and soul are the same thing. The big questions is of what type of energy is the soul made from.It is possible it is not a type of energy at all.It could be a projection or made from something we have never heard of before.

  10. Well your mind is actual reality. Everything else is just a manifestation from your mind.

A classic example is the peculiar concept of a God or Gods. Some people, funnily enough, believe the misinformation that "In the beginning God created all the heavens and the Earth" without realising that it actually a man made concept. In other words a figment of imagination that all comes from: The Mind.

  11. The mind usually refers to your consciousness or thinking faculties. The others are supernatural entities thought to exist in mysticism and religion.

  12. oooooo

  13. It depends entirely on how you define the different terms, and almost everyone defines them differently.  Spirit and soul are terms closely associated with religion, and are almost synonymous.  Mind is associated with the subjective experiences associated with the operation of the brain - the connection between brain and mind is one of the great unsolved mysteries.  Ghosts are normally associated with the dead, and (almost) everyone agrees are completely fictional.

    .

  14. the difference is that spirit, soul, and ghost are misguided concepts created by the mind.  the only one that's real is the mind.  everything else is a product of imagination.
