What's the difference in TAPS and Ghost Hunters?

They had to take the name Ghost Hunters because

"Most Haunted" was already taken.

Ghost Hunters is the name of the show, the company name is TAPS.

TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) is the name of the investigative team that is featured (exclusively) on the show Ghost Hunters. While they are two different organizations they essentially operate as one with TAPS being greatly influenced to take certain cases that make for better TV shows. I also suspect that the vans and equipment did not come from the pockets of the two plumbers that are TAPS.

TAPS = The Atlantic Paranormal Society who are ghost hunters but then almost all paranormal investigative groups are ghost hunters too.

Its just the name that SciFi gave TAPS.
