  1. Well, everyone is right. So I order wet martinis. That's the way I like 'em!

  2. a dry martini has little or no vermouth in it.

  3. a dry martini has dry vermouth, a sweet martini has sweet vermouth,  a straight martini has none, & a perfect has both vermouths.

  4. The amount of dry vermouth (vs sweet vermouth, used in other drinks) in a martini dictates the "dryness" of it, the less vermouth, the "drier" the martini.

Oh, and just in case you have a question about a dirty martini - that would mean you want the olive juice (vs just the olive alone) poured into the drink along with the olive.

  5. Dry means less vermouth. The vermouth adds a bit of sweetness. Don't over do it.
