  1. INTRANET:-An inranet is an Oraganization 's own internal network that uses the same services, protocol and technologies. which are available on the internet. Users use the  software to utilize sevices on the internet as well as Intranet

    LAN:- A  local area network (LAN) is two or more computers directly linked with a small well defined area such as room, office building re a compus. A Lan can be made up of only microcomputers or any combination of microcomputers and large system. main benifit of a lan is the reduction of hardware and software cost because users can share several computer. peripheral devices such as laser pronter ,color plotters harddisks modems , lan platform software. Another benifit is that the users can share the same data. eg. Stherner, novell PC net ARC net and omninet


  2. They're the same thing.

    LAN is a network of computers, and Intranet is something like when you have a server in the network that is able to feed information to all the other computers in that same network. It's like a webpage that can only be viewed by the members of the LAN network.

  3. pretty much what was already said, the intranet is a network that can only be accesses by a certain group and in a certain place, while LAN, local area network, is accessible wherever you can find a connection

  4. intranet means, communication can be done only with in a room atmost within  building, where as lan means local area network were you can use it fortm building upto certain km
