What's the earliest you can know if your pregnant?

My husband and I are trying to get pregnant. We tried this weekend b/c I am suppose to be ovulating. What's the chances I am pregnant, and when is the soonest I can know?

Assuming you did the baby dance at the right time of the month, statistics say that you have only a 25% chance of getting pregnant this month.

The earliest it's even possible for an HPT to ever give a BFP would be about 8dpo.  But the earlier you test, the more likely you are to get a false BFN.  About 95% of pregnant women testing at 8dpo will get a BFN.  If you wait until one day after AF is expected, the odds of a false BFN fall to almost zero.  Something like 98% of pregnant women will get a BFP with an HPT testing at 1 day after AF is due.

My personal advice is to wait until AF is AT LEAST one day late.  The reason being that every month, the odds are against you.  In other words, there is at least a 75% chance you are going to get a BFN.  So rather than PAYING for a BFN, you might as well give AF at least one shot at giving you the BFN for free.

I tested two weeks before my period was schedule to come and the test showed a positive.  I know this is not normal, but it happened for me.  I bought the dollar store test also and they worked just as well.  The test showed positive about 5 days after I ovulated.

The soonest hpt show is 5 days before a missed period however you may not have enough of the pregnancy hormone that early to detect.  May need to wait till a missed period or get a blood test.

they say 2 weeks but i always waited to see if i started my next period i didnt find out til i was 5 weeks with mine. do blood test there more accurate

Most everyone is going to tell you to wait until AF is missing. Which is a good idea and it is better to wait, however one week after my sister in law had s*x with her husband, she took a test and it was faintly positive. She went in the next week to get a blodd test and the dr told her yep..she was pregnant and was 2 weeks..

I used early detection First Response 4 days before my period was due and I got a second faint line!  I confirmed bloodwork with my OBGYN that day!  Good Luck and much babydust to you!

You can get a bloodtest about a week before your period is due and it can be very accurate.

As far as home testing goes, there are tests that you can take about 5 days before you expect your period, but they aren't very accurate until about the day before you expect your period.

My doctor told me that if you take a fertile woman and fertile man and they have s*x at the perfect time under the perfect conditions, there is only a 25% chance they conceive any given month.  That said... I got pregnant the first month we tried both times.

The very earliest is about 8 days past ovulation with an early detection pregnancy test or a little sooner then that with a blood test.  Good luck and lots of baby dust to you! *****

I found 5 weeks after my last period, so technically I was only 3 weeks pregnant. It just depends on the level of pregnancy hormone in your body. The farther along you are, the more of it there is.

you'll have to wait for your scheduled period then your test will show. if it doesn't you can always get a blood test done at your docs.
