My fiance and I are going to Dublin in October. How do most people get around in the city....by bus, taxi, or ? Are there passes that I can purchase I can buy online before we go?

  1. Dublin is not that big and I would advise you to walk in the city center and take the local bus (www.dublinbus.ie) to go from one side to the other. From your hotel in Abbey St you will be from walking distance of most interesting areas.

Enjoy and don't forget your raincoat ;-p

  2. check out www.dublinbus.ie

  3. Most people get around the city by bus, if need be, although the city centre itself is definitely walkable - Dublin is relatively small, it just sprawls out into the suburbs. From your other question I think you're staying in Abbey St? If you are, then you'll probably only really need buses to visit certain attractions like the Guinness brewery. Taxis are quite plentiful though (except on a Saturday night!) and there are a few ranks on O'Connell St, the main boulevard in the city, just off Abbey St. As for buying passes, as someone already suggested, you should look at the Dublin Bus website. Also, if you're planning to travel elsewhere in Ireland during your holiday, you should check out the links below, where you might find passes if necessary. Enjoy your stay!

  4. Its a nice city to walk around

  5. Walk...it's not really all that big.
