I was told that life insurance was a bit harder to sell than others? Is this true or just an opinion? What license do you have to have to sell auto insurance?

  1. Totally depends on your market and the demographics.

For me personally, I sell 20 times more critical illness and long term care insurance than Life insurance.  My market is young people and most young people want somethign that they can see the benefits of.  Critical illness insurance and Long term care provide the insured with a benefit while they are living...The insured person (often the one payign for the policy), never sees the benefits of Life insurance becuase they are dead when it's paid out.

I dont' know where you are so I don't know what you're local area would call the auto liscense.  Home and auto is the easiest typically to sell, becuase people seem to think a material loss is a big deal, however most don't realize that a disability or serious illness will cost their family FAR more in lost wages and medical bills.

To answer your second question:  Yes, I sell to business as well as households.  Business owner insurances, employee benefits, etc.

  2. i had a really hard time selling life ins but auto and home people have to have so its was alot easier

  3. I've gone through the similiar thing -- still a little bit painful, here is the resource help me out.http://insurance.online-frees.info/insur...

  4. The answers in regards to the economy and such probably are right.  I dont know what state you live so I can only answer for mine WA.  To sell life insurance you have to have a license for Health & Disability.  For auto, homeowners, business, renters ect you have to be a licensed Property/Casualty Agent.  My opinion it is best to be an agent  rather than a broker.

  5. Insurance sales results depend on economy situation, consumer spend style, network connection, and strong self-motivate. No definite answer for it.

However a valid Auto Insurance License is required for a salesperson.
