  1. Easiest way will be mass transit.

If you prefer subway, exit at 32nd St/7th Av by NJT/Amtrak exit and walk to 34th St-Herald Sq on 6th Av.

Take downtown R, weekend N and Weekday (W) train to 23rd St (Broadway-5th Av)

If you prefer bus, you could walk to 5th Av & 33rd St and take downtown local M2, M3, M5 to Broadway/25th St, or LTD M2/M5 to 5th Av/23rd St.

  2. The bus or subway-the subway is $2, but if you're not from around NYC, you'll probably get lost on the buses, get dropped off somewhere, and have to pay again to get back on.  The subways are all connected.

  3. by all means walk if you don't have to carry anything too heavy. it'll take all of 15 minutes.

walk out the 32nd Street / 7th Avenue entrance to Penn. continue east on 32nd to Broadway. turn right on Bway, going downtown. continue down to 26th Street, and turn left onto it. walk across 5th Avenue, across the northern edge of Madison Square Park, then turn right. you'll be on Madison Avenue and continue to 24th Street.

alternatively you can walk across 25th or 24th Street, and then cross right through the Park, which should be just as pleasant.

the point of walking on Bway is that you'll be walking the "3rd side of the triangle".

  4. The bus will get you there.

  5. It is less than a mile, so walk if at all possible.  With any connection you will end up walking much of the way anyway.  It may even take less tome to walk.

Exit the building on the Seventh Ave side and walk in the same direction as the traffic on seventh.  Ten short blocks later you will be at 23d street.  Turn left and walk over two and a half blocks.

When you get to fifth ave notice the tall triangular building on the right. That is the famous Flatiron Building that is often featured in shows and movies about New York.  Also, in the park on the left side there, there is a food vendor that sells excellent products.

One more bit of trivia.  If you are going into the Met Life building, be aware that upon completion it was the world's tallest building, From 1909 until 1913 when the Woolworth Building began its reign.

  6. Stop being lazy, just walk, will take you like 15 minutes.
