What's the fastest, most efficient means to get from Heathrow airport to Central London?

The Heathrow express takes 15mins from Heathrow to Paddington on a fast, non-stop train.  It cost about 14.50 pounds.  The tube is a lot slower but costs a lot less.

Probably depends on which section of London. The Tube is cheapest, and connects you to all parts of London. However, if you are staying in the Regent Park area, or any area around Paddington, you are better off taking the Heathrow Express. It is more costly, but faster. Central London, Southbank, the City, take the tube but in many cases you will need to change from the Picadilly line - which serves Heathrow - to one of the others. Also keep in mind that the Tube does NOT run all night - last train from heathrow is around midnight, but check that.  Heathrow Express runs later, I believe.
