Click the little icon under the word "time" to sort them by fastest time.

  4. the super horse Secretariat! then went on to win the Preakness and Belmont. and the Belmont is still at record from Secretariat, and not any horse has come with-in a time of 9 seconds!

  5. Secretariat-- 1:59 2/5 seconds.

Monarchos was the second-fastest Derby winner, but the second-fastest Derby ever run was by Sham, who ran second to Secretariat in 1973.  He ran the 1-1/4 mile in 1:59 4/5.

I always thought it was a shame that Sham had to be born in the same year as Secretariat.  He was a fantastic colt, with a lot of courage, but many people only know him out of pity for being Secretariat's shadow.

  6. I don't know the time but I know it is secretariat He ran a faster every quarter mile basically unheard of. I hope your talking about the Kentucky derby.

  7. secretariat

  8. Monarchos had the third fastest time.  Secretariat had the first and some horse that ran back in the 1980's had the second.  What more do you want to know?
