  1. You could try cranking it in succession a few times. Or you could remove the spark plug, tilt and drain the flooded cylinder, then crank. And the last method which is the easist is to let it sit for a couple of hours, then go back and crank. Good Luck!!

  2. let it sit 4 about 10 mins then retry.

  3. Continuing to crank will continue to add gas to the cylinder, which already has too much gas.  Removing spark plugs from the cylinders will allow fresh air to penetrate the cylinder and let some of the gasoline evaporate and therefore remedy the flooding.

To even further speed the process, use compressed air from an air compressor (NOT canned air) and a nozzle to quickly push air into the cylinder and you should have your mower started in no time.

If you are not able to get at the spark plugs and have a way of cutting off the gasoline flow to the engine... (a very rare scenario)  I recommend you cut off flow and crank the engine until it sputters (it will, of course, turn off because of the lack of gas flow) and then restart the engine with gasoline flow.  The second start will require a bit more choke (or more throttle) because you just burned the gasoline in the cylinder.

  4. If it's a pull rope type make sure not to squeeze the diaphram and  put the choke on off.....pull the rope a few times then reset the carb and then try it.  Or just let it sit for a few minutes.
