What's the fastest you have ever ridden/driven and when and under what circumstances, and in/on what vehicle?

Fastest I ever went was 210km/h when I was in the army on a Kawasaki 1100 in 1988, as a pillion, on the way to George from Oudstshoorn with my blind-as-a-bat army friend riding! Almost k@kked my pants!

317km\h on a quatermile at Black rock raceway on a suped-up 1100cc GPZ in June 1992 . It felt fantastic ! Nowadays the standard bikes does it with ease !

292 Km\h in a ford F100 ,351 cub inch ,7 litre v8 ,C6 gearbox ,292 diff . Caught on the Klippan road .Fine = R25 000 .

The reciept for the payment of the fine and the photo of the pick-up was framed and hangs in my bar .

Those were the good ole days !

Now it is 80Km\h in my old Isuzu d\cab !

Fastest I've ever drivven - I was caught by camera was 170km/h in a GTI (on a steep downhill) - many, many years back, Fine was R800.

I'm sure other people have taken me faster in their cars, I was too scared to look at what speed we were travelling at.

I'm not one for driving high speed on public roads.

There is this flat stretch of road between Winburg and Bloemfontein, all the bikers know it, well i also went pillion behind my brother and we did 225 km/h on his Honda(don't ask me what type it was, but it was silver). I did not see much as I had to align perfectly behind him with my elbows and knees tucked in and my head straight behind his........I saw angels flying around really. It was fantastic.

My own record for which I got caught was 180km/h in the 308 Ferrari I used to own. The fine was R2,500.

I was in Germany and I missed a flight from Bonn to Frankfurt and the airline company put me in a taxi (it was mercedes - only in Germany) and the driver raced on the autobahn at 250km/h - I got the fright of my life when my fellow passenger pointed at the speedometer because it didn't even feel that fast!

240k in a MX6 between bronkhorspruit and Pta on a friday afternoon a 16:30 very nice people in that part of the country they get into the left hand lane quickly. Did 220k in a Nissan Murano this afternoon at 3 on the N17 in Joburg and there had to be a idiot that turned infront of me doing 100. Oherwise 170in a 60 zone is my worst. I have do admit I do sometimes get into a hurry.

My "record" is on the lower end of the scale. On a moped that is built to go up to 25 km/h, I managed to get it going 49 km/h, and I used to ride on the cycle paths and pass all the traffic stuck in the jams.  And I did not fiddle with the tuning to make it go faster, it just had this "habit" of going faster  when the outside temperatures were colder!
