What's the first episode of Battlestar Galactica?

I've just gotten what's supposed to be season 1 episode 1, called "33." But this episode starts out with a "previously on Battlestar Galactica" segment, with dialogue like "...a cylon attack underway... as of this minute we are at war... there may be cylon agents living among us... they could be sleeper agents programmed to perfectly imitate human beings until activation."

What's the real first episode then? When did all this "previously" stuff happen?

33 is the first episode OF THE SERIES, but the story begins in the mini-series that aired in 2003.
