Has Djoko won any clay titles at all, and if so which ones? I don't see that he's all that great on clay, though his Rome performance was interesting, oh wait, that was Hamburg. Hamburg is such a fast court, though, that it plays more like a hard court.

  1. Semis last year where he lost to Nadal.

People say he isn't great on clay, but he's won clay court tournaments, namely Rome and Estoril. Some thought Nadal would challenge Federer for #1 during the clay season. INstead it was Nole challenging Nadal for #2. I say he's better on clay than he's given credit for.

  2. Last year he reached the SF of the RG where he lost to Nadal...

In 2006 he won the Dutch Open Tennis Tounrament in 2006.

Last year, he also won the Estoril Open in 2007.

And this year, he won the Rome Masters 2008.

  3. semis, please give this answer a thumps up!!! thank you =)

  4. He made it to the semi-finals last year. What's remarkable is that at the start of last year no one expected him to become so good in such a short span of time however he had a great run at Indian wells (runner up to Nadal) and Miami (won it defeating Canas) and after that he's just been getting better and better.

Agreed Hamburg is the fastest of clay courts, but if you put it that way, that would detract from federer's victory also since that's where his sole win came over Nadal on clay.

  5. He got to the semi-finals of the French open last year.

He's won 3 tounraments on clay.

Dutch Open Tennis Tounrament in 2006.

    Estoril Open in 2007.

    Rome 2008.

  6. He made it to the semis last year and lost to Rafael Nadal. I think that he is good on clay when he's playing his best (of course). But that win in Rome wasn't very impressive, didn't he have like two walk throughs in the quarterfinals and semifinals, and then when he gets to the final he plays a unseeded player, and loses the first set! But his performance in Hamburg was good (and interesting), but I think that is the best he can do on clay for now.
