What's the graph look like: x^2 - 4y^2=1 ?

i think it could be an hyperbola but then how can i figure out what the x-intercepts are?

  1. It's a hyperbola along the x-axis (like a C) and it reflects along the y-axis (so it's a C and a reflected C).

    To find out the x-intercepts, sub y=0 because the x-intercepts occur when their y-coordinate is 0
