I was at Arbroath to watch them play Stenhousemuir once in a grim 0-0 draw. The Gayfield pitch was a mess, it was dark and the waves were coming over the far wall of the ground. Hammer House of Football.

  1. Been a few, Gayfield ain't pretty in winter (or summer actually)

Worst has been a 0-0 at Stranraer at about -25degrees, remember one at Somerset Pk too that we lost 3-1 and it was baltic with snow and sleet falling the whole day

  2. Rangers V Partick about 1980 finished 0-0 I've never seen a worse game ever.

  3. Two that I can think of. First one going to see Celtic play Whitehill Welfare in the Scottish Cup at Easter Road in January a few years back. The coldest I have ever been. Second was a midweek game at Rugby  Park absolutely bucketing down and my seat was in the second row. The game was absolutely dreadful but at least we won.

  4. Probably at my local team Southport FC!

  5. I'll take liberties with the definition of 'grim.'For me personally, seeing Stewart Kennedy let in five goals at Wembley was pretty grim.

  6. No dis - respect intended but the O Donnel match at Parkhead was one of the worst games id seen.I know it was a friendly, good cause ,but it was a mis match hoped the whistle would go early

  7. at tannadice on a cold wednesday in january around 83 or 84.  playing ayr united in a snowstorm, the game was shite, although we won 1-0, it was friggin freezin, the buses got cancelled and i started smoking.

  8. i know this isn't related to this but was at a hurling game where i live and a huge fight broke out!! game had to be stopped as the crowd entered the pitch to fight!!

  9. A mate of mine is involved in Albion Rovers and I went to see the Friendship cup between them and Celtic. Jings it was dire with a goal in the 82nd minute.

Mind you I did something last season that most other Celtic fans didn't; and that was see Adam Virgo play in the Celtic top. No great shakes either, but whoosh he is a tall fella.

  10. I was not there but the games Celtic played in Portugal except the Porto game were very dire to watch.

  11. A mid week game against Aberdeen, got well beaten, the coach heating packed in the bus was filthy got home to Killie, in the wee hours. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
