  1. Yes, I, too,  think of Guinness beer when I think of Ireland.

While I'm sure you'll make a big hit passing out samples of Guinness to your friends, it would be unfair to the Irish people if that were only what they were known for.   I could think of several wonderful stews .

Alcoholism is always a bad thing, nothing to celebrate. It isn't  so much that all the Irish are such drunks, it is maybe that many of the ones who are drunks know how to keep it from getting out of hand and destroying their lives, so they survive long enough to prove they can be around.

  2. Cead Mile Failte- A Hundred Thousand Welcomes!

Tis said that God made whiskey to keep the Irish from ruling the world!! That is the history of the Irish and whiskey.

    Recipe for Irish Coffee:

Cream, rich as an Irish brogue

Coffee, strong as a friendly hand

Sugar, sweet as the tongue of a rogue

Whiskey, smooth as the wit of the land.
