What's the huge dilema with..?

vegetarians against 'fake' or soy meat? its ridiculous. i hate when they're against eating meat and eating fake meat. TRUE vegetarians stopped eating meat for the sake of the animals.. and fake meat is NOT an animal, what is the problem with that? i, myself, am a vegatarian and i love the fake meat! its also high in protien, so you get back what you dont from the uneaten meat. anyways, my questions is why is it wrong to those of you veggies out there to eat the meatless meat???

I don't think it's the vegetarians that object to the fake meat. Personally I think they're stupid. If you're giving up meat, but need simulated meat replacements then maybe you should just eat the meat already. But I'm not a vegetarian, so really I'm not the right one to ask about them.

Well i'm not one of them lol!! I do eat mock meat but not like every day and not even every week. But I will eat them, I think they're great!

I don't get it. It seems the anti-faux-meat crowd is comprised of those who fawn over Tofutti, soy cheese, and Earth Balance. Hazzajiggawhaaat?

I don't eat the fake meat too much but I do love some of them.

There are a significant portion of people who do not like the taste or texture because it reminds them of the real thing.  Some people are so repulsed by meat that eating something similar is a turn off to them.

There are many vegetarians and vegans who became so for their health and fake meat products aren't exactly the healthiest foods because they are so overprocessed.  

Also, some veggies will not wear fake leather because it perpetuates leather-looking items as being fashionable so they avoid the stuff.

I don't think it's really a big deal.  They don't eat the faux products and you and I do.  The end result is the same...not harming animals.  It just comes down to personal preference.
