  1. I would say the family of Abraham.

    Untold numbers!  Biblical to present time


  2. I hope you realize that this is a very vague question.  Are you speaking of a "nuclear" family (just parents and children)?  An "extended" family?  The people related who are living in  single residence (say, for example, a palace)?

    If you're just talking about parents and children, I would say that some of these get top billing

    1) Solomon (who had 700 wives and 300 concubines and an untold number of children)

    2) Ramses II is supposed to have had about 110 children

    3) Brigham Young probably gets the American record, with more than 50 wives and 56 children
