What's the largest hail size you've seen?

  1. I've only seen hail once. And that was today. It hasn't melted yet. Each piece was a bit bigger than a pea.

  3. I'd have to say golf ball sized.  

  4. Eh, about quarter-size.

    What was significant about it, though, was that the hail was from one of those tornadic thunderstorms from the "NE Ohio Tornadoes of 1985".

    I was a kid then and had quite an impression left upon me. Not to mention a bump on the head from running outside to observe the hail.

    Don't worry- it wasn't tornadic at that point. Not until about 5 miles down the road, lol.

  5. penny size, in Massachusetts.

  6. grape fruit sized, but stranger than that i have seen it in a flat sheet instead of round.

  7. Quarter sized, in New Jersey in the middle of Summer.  Pretty rare but I have seen it.  It made a h**l of a racket as it hit the steel garage door where I was working.
