  1. the US. why adopt overseas when kids in the US need adopting

  2. Oooh!  Another bargain shopper.  Goodie!

Maybe you should look into adopting a cat or a puppy.  They're more in your budget and that way you can avoid those pesky college educations everyone is raving about.

Better yet, how about a SeaMonkey?

  3. Vietnam and Kazahstan both allow single woman to adopt, and you appear to meet the age requirements for both countries. The fees are pretty average for international adoption. The following agency has programs for both countries, and you can find the information you're looking for on their website.  http://directory.adoption.com/frame.php?...

We adopted both of our children internationally. I agree that it is important to make sure your community is culturally diverse, and that there will be role models of the same race as your child available. Adopted children have a lot of things to deal with already, and I agree that being the only black child in school would make things even harder for your child, so I understand your concern.

  4. I adopted my daughter in India. Check out the agencies there. Female children unfortunately are considered disposable. There are many orphanages are brimming with beautiful children and being a single parent isn't a problem. Being a good, loving, responsible parent is! Good luck! :)!!!

  5. Hi Christy - I have a single co-worker who is the process of adopting a baby from Guadamala.  She said it has been fairly inexpensive and she will get a portion of the money returned to her when the adoption is finalized.

I can get further information for you if you are interested.  Feel free to email me!  Good luck to you - and try to ignore the ignorant comments you get on here - VERY unnecessary!!

  6. Just because Christie had asked for the least expensive option does not mean that she will be any better or worse as a parent than anyone else. Perhaps, by using a less expensive option, she will be able to put more money towards raising her child after she has adopted.

All the best in your plans to adopt - and if you do live in the US, perhaps local adoption would be the best option.

  7. The least expensive way to adopt is through foster care

  8. Indeed, why go abroad to adopt when there are children in need of a stable home life in your own country. Are you worried that you won't be accepted as a carer?

  9. I don't mean to accuse you of anything, but I am curious why you would be open to asian and latino children, but not african? I am not trying to imply you are racist, only that perhaps you think that raising a brown child is easier than a black child, which isnt the case. There is still plenty of racism directed at asian and latino kids, plenty of stares, plenty of transitions...there is a lot to think about.

  10. So you let other people control who you should and should not adopt? I have 2 biracial children, and if I worried about what other people thought, I probably wouldnt have had them in the first place. These 2 precious angels and the light of my light, and they are bright, happy, healthy children with a bright future ahead of them. Who CARES what other people think? Well, you shouldnt. Give a needy child a home, love them, teach them, and let the chips fall where they may. Maybe YOU could be catalyst for change in your community.

(By the way, there are white people in Africa, and black people outside of Africa. Or is it discrimination directed at ALL Africans, regardless of their race?) *shrugs*

  11. korea isnt very expensive.  they average ten to fifteen thousand and theres no travel involved.  They do have very strict guidelines for single women.  You will need to be 30 years old  and your bmi cannot be above 35...there are many more look into international adoption agencies in your state for more info.
