What's the legal age for someone to sit in the front seat of a car in MA?

I'm a working mom in MA who carpools all the time, and sometimes one kid has to sit in front. This always worries me, and I want to make sure it's safe and legal.

  1. Should be over 12 years old is safe in the front seat, due to the risk of injury from the air bag. I think it's safe if you are able to turn off the air bag.
