Is it 15 or 16? Do you have to show ID? Just for working in a shop, restaurant etc. Thanks

  1. You need to be over 16 to get a regular full-time job. At 14 you can do light work up to 7 hours a day during the school holidays. Between 15 and 16 you  may do light work up to 8 hours a week during school term time.  You can get more information on the rules and regulations regarding working conditions and time off for under 16s at the site below:

  2. 16 you need a PRSI card which is given to all citizens.

Even at sixteen your hours are restricted to how many you can work in a day or a week.

  3. sixteen :)
