  1. To dose Vit C: start low 1000mg-4000mg per day and increase until you get diarrhea then back off until you are at a dosage that doesn't cause diarrhea.

  2. there is no limit. don't worry, vitamin c is water soluble, meaning your body will absorb what it needs, and the rest goes out the urine. HOWEVER, there are certain vitamins that are fat soluble(stored in body), and do not come out urine, which can pose a serious threat. dont eat those kinds.

and why did you suddenly decide to eat 10 vitamin c tablets???

  3. Even though our bodies dispose of excess vitamin C, I wouldn't take more than 2000 mg in a day. It's acidic and might change the balance in your stomach or intestines as it works its way out of your body.

Be sure you have eaten something before you take the vitamin C.

  4. therapeautic dosage range is 250mg-10,000mg (so that would be 10 1000mg pills). Some people will go over this though. Generally you can use it to "bowel tolerance" which means, once you take too much it will have a laxative effect. It won't make you terribly ill though. Some people will reach bowel tolerance at relatively low doses and others can take quite high doses with no problems.

  5. Black_ch IS WRONG! You can overdose, but it is hard too and you should be okay. You will probably get diarrhea, but might not.

If you do olive oil helps to form stools and I would make sure you have vitamin c everyday making sure you cut down though. If you stop taking it after very high doses you can get rebound scurvy although extremely rare. I would take 1000 MGs for a few day and then go down to 500 MG's of Esther c with bioflavanoids. which is the best known and 500 is only needed for 99% of people. I wouldn't do this again as it messes with your cells.

  6. quietmountain8 is right... but to add, enough of anything can be toxic. It would take a lot of Vitamin C (because it is water soluble), but if you took a bunch of Vitamin C pills all at once, you could be poisoned from the toxic levels... even of anything (even water) can kill you.

10,000 mg per day (10 of the 1,000 mg pills) is therapeutic, but will commonly cause diarrhea if you aren't used to high doses like that as she said... but that's spread out throughout the day that it would be therapeutic. If you took too much too fast, it could be toxic enough that you could damage your liver or even need to go to the ER. Taking supplements, drugs, or anything else in greater quantities than the container recommends is not generally a good idea... they are not candy.

I hope you haven't already hurt yourself, but I wish you luck.
