What's the limit to file an accident report? (In Canada)?

Mt boyfriends car got hit by someone who we found out had stolen plates, but this was on Saturday.

What's the time limit?

You legally have to report all motor vehicle accidents within 48 hours.

Most cities have accident reporting centres or you can go down to your local police precinct.

It's way more than a few days.  A friend of mine got hit by a guy who asked her not to file a report because he didn't want it going through his insurance.  He ended up never paying so she had to file a report months later to get his insurance to pay and it was not a problem.
