Question:

What's the little 'D' mean?

I have a Blackberry Pearl and when I send a text message sometimes I see a little "D" next to the check mark. I looked in the manual and all it shows is the check mark to indicate the text has been sent. Does the little 'D' just mean it's been delivered? or that the other person has actually looked at it? Wondering because sometimes I see it and sometimes I don't.

  1. On most phones the D stands for a Digital connection instead of an analog connection...

  2. it means delivered. It doesnt necessarily mean that the message has been read. I've tested this with mine and my dad's blackberries. It usually shows up 2 seconds after you hit send - or longer if the network is acting up or something. and the D will only appear on PIN messages, not regular texts - so dont be worried if you dont see the D on regular SMS's.
