  1. Don't loose sight of the fact that in golf it is not important how far you can hit the ball.  What matters is how many times you hit it.

  2. He once hit a 425 yard drive at Kapalua, during the season-opening Mercedes Championship.  I forget which year.

But the hole played downhill and downwind, so Tiger had some help.

The longest drive I can remember Tiger hitting, on a relatively flat hole with little wind help, was around 362 yards.  I think that was at Doral CC in Miami.  Forget which year.

  3. 10 miles

  4. He's hit some pretty far drives.  He hit one 383 yards at the Tour Championship a few years ago.  He hit a drive on a par 5 at the U.S. Open last year 393 yards.  The drive he hit a Kapalua was on the long par 5 but it is down hill and down wind.  He hit one at American Express Championships 368 yards back in 2000.  He is capable of hitting the ball 320 yards in the air.
