  1. OK,, since you are talking about a puppy, we don't have to worry about them jumping over a gate at this point.  12 feet is much to wide for traditional pet gates or even baby gates.  However, you can make your own.

    1.  Temp gate, easy fast, cheap,,, boxes.  Just tape them together to make a fake wall, then a standard spring loaded baby gate will work.  You have to reinforce the last box, where the baby gate pushes against it.

    2.  Start looking for some type of more permanant thing, or make a divider out of 2" x 2" wood, faced with some 1/4 plywood or wood paneling.  You can buy the stock in 8 foot sections, and if you put feet on it, you should be able to use a 4 foot gate.

Too keep the animals from jumping over the gate, establish the gate as your territory, by putting on some dirty socks to keep your scent on the gate.

Start training the dog that this space is off limits, so by the time they are bigger, and the gates will not hold, you can take them down.

    Good luck.

  2. I read loooongest really funny.

  3. You can easily get one from petco that is 6 feet long and its CONSTANTLY in stock because its so expensive.... they link onto other gates as well so 2 of them would probably suit your needs.   I think there was an 8-ft long one as well... but it was like 42 inches tall so it was a bit of an eyesore.
