What's the lowest health grade you've seen posted in a resturaunt?

I saw a "C" in a mcdonalds in walmart the other day.

  1. I hate to tell you, but "C" still passes. That's the lowest they can get and stay operating.


  2. There are only three grades in that system, A, B, and C.  They are not ratings by some independent rating bureau that offers consumer advice.  They are ratings made by a government health inspector.  

    A rating means it passed inspection and will be allowed to remain open.  They have good food handling procedures.

    B rating means there are some violations or marginal food safety handling.

    A restaurant that gets a C rating has several or severe health code violations and will often be allowed to remain open for a short period (usually ten days) to correct them before another inspection.

    The only time I saw C ratings were on places that were closed.
